New Tag Transfer··Updated 8 Jul 2024

Two FASTags on the same car and the plaza is confused

Dealer tag plus old owner tag. Two inlays, one windscreen, random boom behaviour.

Used compact car, two faded rectangles on the glass. One dealer fitment, one previous owner. Jaipur approach road. The reader picks a ghost. The warden sees a mess. You did not know the second sticker was still live.

The used compact car is the least interesting object in this scene. The interesting objects are the NETC flag, the IDBI / mixed issuers wallet, and the tag ID. NETC wants one vehicle, one live tag. Two live mappings produce random reads, blacklists, or double debit. The car does not get to vote.

What broke at Jaipur Gopalpura side approaches

Jaipur ring and NH-48 feeders does not host a debate club. If the boom stays down or the SMS looks insane, treat it as a file problem. Typical roots for this case:

  • Buyer never closed the seller’s tag.
  • Dealer issued a new tag without hotlisting the old one.
  • You kept a ‘backup’ sticker in the corner.
  • Replacement tag applied without peeling the dead one fully.
  • Fleet leftover on a company car sold privately.

Field card for this problem

Sale deeds and Form 29/30 do not auto-close FASTag. The issuer needs a close request.

Check status before the next booth

Open both issuer apps and MyFASTag. Do not start with a random Google number and do not start with a shout.

  • Enter the vehicle number in MyFASTag and see which tag ID is linked.
  • Read both physical IDs and compare with both bank apps if you still have logins.
  • Ask the seller to close their tag if their app still shows this RC.

If MyFASTag and IDBI / mixed issuers disagree, believe neither blindly. Screenshot both. The plaza reader believes the live NETC image, which usually follows the issuer.

Raise the dispute without theatre

If you cannot reach the seller, take RC plus sale proof to your issuer helpdesk and explain orphan mapping.

  • Issuer of the tag you want to keep should be the only live mapping.
  • Request hotlist/close of the other tag with RC and sale proof.
  • If double debit happened, dispute with the issuer that took the extra.

Money returns on issuer time. It does not return because you blocked a lane. If cash was taken as well as a tag debit, keep the paper slip. That pair is how double-pay stories get taken seriously.

Do not do this in the lane

  • Do not peel both in the lane.
  • Do not keep a second tag ‘just in case’.
  • Do not buy a third tag from a mall kiosk until the old two are settled.

You still need a way through Jaipur Gopalpura side approaches for this one trip: the lane they assign, the handheld, or cash with a receipt. Then you leave. The repair is in both issuer apps and MyFASTag.

Four questions people ask after this mess

1. Which sticker should I peel?

Do not guess in traffic. See which ID MyFASTag shows as linked, then close the other through its issuer.

2. Can two tags share one wallet?

No. Each has its own issuer wallet.

3. Will police see two tags as a crime?

Two live tags is a programme violation and a practical failure. Get to one live tag.

4. Dealer said the old tag dies automatically.

It often does not. Confirm in the status app.

Short note

Toll rules, class tables, and bank menus change. The official issuer app is the final word. Fastag Atka is not an NHAI office. Recharge only through your official bank or authorized app. Do not clone a tag.

At Jaipur Gopalpura side approaches the practical move is still the same: move the vehicle out of the live conflict line if the staff point you to a bay, then work both issuer apps and MyFASTag. A warden can confirm a handheld read. A warden cannot rewrite IDBI / mixed issuers KYC, cannot complete your UPI, and cannot clone a better sticker. People lose twenty minutes arguing the wrong desk.

Carry the vehicle number as printed on the RC, the tag ID on the inlay sleeve or sticker edge, and the time. Those three facts travel through every ticket. Stories about a rude horn do not. If you change phones, keep the registered mobile alive. If you sell the used compact car, close the tag. If you buy a used compact car, do not inherit a stranger’s wallet.

The highway will still be there after you file. The point of Fastag Atka is to give you the booth-side order: status, then money path, then dispute, then stop. Official issuer app is the final word when a menu label here drifts. Toll circulars change. We do not pretend to be the gazette.

If a stranger offers a duplicate tag, a “black to green” paid WhatsApp, or a QR that is not inside the official issuer app, walk. Recharge only through the official bank or authorized FASTag channel. Fastag Atka does not take wallet money at hello@fastagstuck.space.

Keep both issuer apps and MyFASTag logged in on a phone that travels with the used compact car. Check status on Jaipur ring and NH-48 feeders trips the night before, not under the antenna at Jaipur Gopalpura side approaches. If the ledger and the plaza disagree, screenshot both clocks and file once with IDBI / mixed issuers. Repeat filings without new facts slow the same queue you want to leave.
